  1. I am running a Hyper-V VM backup to a USB HDD drive for testing on a cleanly formatted disk. After running 1 backup of 3 VM's (about 100GB) Windows is reporting that the drive is 97% fragmented. Is this normal/expected? Should we be defragging often? USB HDD Repository is set at Best compression with store as separate files disabled. Thanks!

  2. Hi, I updated the va to nakivo 10.6. I also have a transporter synlogy, with DSM 7.1-42661. but when i try to update the transporter, i get this error " this packet require DSM 7.0-4000 or lower". Any solution? thanks.

  5. I had 10.6 installed before I updated to DSM 7.1 (on my x86_64 synology). On the units that had transporters they showed a "REPAIR" option in the package center that worked great but on the main unit with the Nakivo software it just shows it is incompatible. Is there any updater or way to downgrade to 10.51 like it did for the transporters? Thank you!

  6. @AalHaiThank you for getting back to us! In this case, we could recommend the following workaround: 1. Create a script on the NAKIVO director's side with the following actions (please note that there should be a separate script for each physical machine that should be backuped): - Refresh the transporter that is assigned to a necessary physical machine. - Start the backup job for a necessary physical machine. 2. Create a task on the physical machine side that will initiate the above script remotely on some trigger (boot, wake up etc.). At the same time, such workflow was not tested by our QA Team, and we could not guarantee its reliability. Thank you so much for your attention and participation.   7. our company is already using nakivo as a backup solution for our servers, now i would like to add a backup job for our physical clients (notebooks in our case), problem is that due to the nature of our workflows a lot of our ork is done on premises of the customer, and it is not predictable when the notebooks in question are connected to our internal network. this makes a regular scheduled backup job very impractical, since at any given point in time the devices may or may not be connected to our internal network. is there a way to initiate a backup of a notebook automatically when said notebook connects to our internal network ?

  8. would it not be possible to use the cli to create a script that remotely initiates a backup job and simply have said script run everytime the notebook is booted up ? this would obviously fail in case the notebook is connected to a different network, but should successfully start the backup of the notebook in case it is connected to the company network

  14. I was excited to see this announcement. I've been waiting for Nakivo to support Wasabi Cloud in the Canadian region. However, once I followed the directions to apply the update. I get an error showing me that my DSM is too new to install the package. How can this be, when you just released this version of Nakivo? Did you just build a release that doesn't support the latest version of DSM for Synology? However, V10.5x is fine to run on this version of DSM??? See attached screenshots for my DSM version, the Nakivo version currently installed and the error message I'm receiving. Confused.
