Hello, Dan. Feel free to let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with. -
Hello, @cbon Thank you for your interest in NAKIVO! Starting from the DSM 7 version of the firmware, Synology does not allow the installation of unsigned packages. So the only official source from which you can install NAKIVO at the moment is the Synology Package Center. We in NAKIVO are doing all we can to deliver the new versions of the product as fast as possible Due to the Synology internal testing workflow, it could take some time for the new version of NAKIVO to appear in the Package Center. Currently, the 10.5.1-61510 version of the NAKIVO is available via the Package Center on the DSM 7 version of the Synology NAS firmware. Feel free to let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with, and we will get back to you. We are looking forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for your interest in NAKIVO! Yes, this is an absolutely correct conception. If you need any assistance with the configuration of this layout or some specific details, don't hesitate to get in touch with support directly at support@nakivo.com. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with, and we will get back to you.

Hello, Matt, thank you for your question. Yes, technically, it is possible to migrate NAKIVO from a local installation to AWS EC2. There is a pre-built AWS AMI with the NAKIVO director. At the same time, importing to AWS NAKIVO will require minor manual configuration (check IP addresses of Inventory items and transporters, check repositories paths, etc.). If the NAKIVO director is located in AWS, we recommend having additional local transporter (or even a local repository) work with the hypervisor locally. If you have any issues during the process in the future, such cases should be investigated with the logs, send them using support@nakivo.com email. You can create a new support ticket by sending us a support bundle from the instance where the issue occurs. Thank you for undestanding. We are looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello, JoBonJo, there is not enough information for further investigation at the moment. Please, check if port 902 is opened on the target for the recovery VMware host. Also, such cases should be investigated with the logs, send them using support@nakivo.com email. You can create a new support ticket by sending us a support bundle from the instance where the issue occurs. Thank you for undestanding.

Pete, please, use the email to contact with the support team. Your issue needs more details. Thank you

Hyper-V RCT is not supported by this VM
Official Moderator replied to Ray Johns's topic in Hyper-V Backup
Hello @Ezequiel Kich, Proprietary change tracking method is not a full backup. When using proprietary change tracking method, an entire VM is read each time. Therefore, it is slower than the use of resilient change tracking (RCT). Nevertheless, only changes are transferred in both cases. In order to use RCT for change tracking, you need a contemporary Hyper-V version. Please let us know if there's anything else we can help you with. -
Best way to cloud backup (storage)
Official Moderator replied to Ezequiel Kich's topic in AWS EC2 Backup
Hello @Ezequiel Kich! Make a Backup Job Copy of the local data to the Wasabi repository. Please keep in mind that to transfer 2Tb data with bandwidth 50 Mbps you need to spend about 3 days 17 hours. https://www.calculator.net/bandwidth-calculator.html?downloadsize2=2&downloadsize2unit=TB&bandwidth2=50&bandwidth2unit=mb&ctype=2&x=89&y=18#download-time Please keep us posted. -
Hello @kaoht, The improvement of the native tape support feature usability is already underway. The product team is working to ensure that NAKIVO Backup & Replication can display tape cartridge capacity and BO/RP size. Please let us know if there's anything else we can help you with.

Looking for a Backup Solution: Pure IPv6 Hyper-V Cluster
Official Moderator replied to georgeme's topic in General threads

It is not implemented in the current version of NAKIVO Backup & Replication and we cannot recommend any other data protection solution.
