Bedders Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Good morning, Upon logging into our NAKIVO appliance today, I saw the following warning at the top: Free usage period will expire in 8 days 15 hours Dec 23 at 8:39 Dismiss The current free usage period for agent-based QEMU/KVM VM data protection will expire in 8 days 15 hours (on 2025 Jan 01 at 0:00 (UTC +00:00)). As far as I know we don't use this but is there any way to determine whether this will affect our installation? Thanks in advance 2 1 Quote

Bedders Posted January 2, 2025 Author Posted January 2, 2025 And to update it now says this, although no functionality we use appears to have been affected. Free usage period has expired The current promotion period for agent-based QEMU/KVM VM data protection has expired. 1 Quote

Thanks in advance Hi @Bedders, This is just a notification that we stopped free support for agent-based Proxmox VMs. We support agentless backups for Proxmox VE starting from v11 (https://www.nakivo.com/resources/download/update/). You can add the Proxmox server/cluster as a hypervisor instead of adding the Proxmox VMs as physical machines. If you are not using Proxmox or have not added Proxmox VMs as physical machines in NAKIVO, you can ignore this warning. Thank you for choosing NAKIVO Backup & Replication, If you have any questions please let us know. 1 Quote

It is constantly showing up as "1 issue" and I could not find a way how to clear that issue. The dismiss button is just greyed out. The issues counter should not show "1" when this isn't a real issue. It is very missleading. 1 1 Quote

Hi @Stegerius, This is just a notification that we stopped free support for agent-based Proxmox VMs. We support agentless backups for Proxmox VE starting from NAKIVO Backup & Replication version 11 (https://www.nakivo.com/resources/download/update/). But you may also remove this notification in NAKIVO v10.11.3 by adding its event name misc2 to the "system.email.notifications.skip.event.list" and "system.email.notifications.skip.event.list" fields in the expert mode and remove all events in NAKIVO Expert Mode. Here is the guide: https://helpcenter.nakivo.com/User-Guide/Content/Settings/Expert-Mode.htm If you have any questions, please let us know. Quote

Thanks for that, but I guess the second one should be "system.event.skip.creating.event.list" and not "system.email.notifications.skip.event.list" again? I am on 11.0.0 currently. I added misc2 to the two options shown below and did a reboot of the appliance. But the issues counter is still on 1 and the message is still there. 1 Quote
Dieter Posted January 7, 2025 Posted January 7, 2025 Sorry, but it does not work. in your 2nd part: Quote misc2 to the "system.email.notifications.skip.event.list" and "system.email.notifications.skip.event.list" the variable names are the same. I suspect there is a second variable whose value must be "misc2" - which one? Or is "misc2" the wrong value for "system.email.notifications.skip.event.list"? Removing all errors in expert mode works, but after a few seconds the same error appears again. For the first part - update to version 11 - it would be interesting to know when the update will be possible via the software. For me, the update search always reports that my version 10.11.3.86570 is current and that there are no updates available. Thans for answers 1 Quote
