Multi-Tenant mode has not logic infraestructure

Hi, we have a IT company services and we like to deploy multitenant-mode in our-service to resell to our clients.

The problems is than we need direct connection from ESXI to multi-tenant director and not all clients has firewall or only allows this connection to our servers.

For us, the correct implementation must be install a "transporter/agenet/whatever" in client side and this software connect to ESXI and then backup to ther local infraestructure or upload to multi-tenant that can configure repository.

With this, the client not need to open ports, configure VPN, etc.  Only install the transporter in ther infraestructure and connecto to our multi-tenant to configure, add repository, restore, etc.

Regarads!

With current NAKIVO workflow, the director needs access to all ESXi hosts and transporters for correct management.
In case the transporter will be deployed on the customer side, then, yes, all the data will be transferred inside the customer site (without using WAN) ,but the director still will need access to the ESXi host and transporter.
Generally, it is possible to do this in two ways:
- configure port forwarding at customer's firewall;
- configure VPN to customer's site to have full network access.

I can't edit previous post, so here is explanation for my post above.

We're MSP with many customers. Our typical customer is SMB with few servers, physical or virtual. We need to deploy "agent" on customer's server and manage it via Nakivo multi-tenancy console.

- Port forward is not solution, some customers has mote servere on single site.
- VPN is not solution, we cannot create VPN for every single customer.

Is some agent on your roadmap? It's a blocker in our case.

Many thanks in advance.

Kind regards,
Jaroslav

Hello, thank you for good new. As 10.2 came few hours ago, I'm expecting next release 10.3 with "no VPN feature" in about 6 months?

Kind regards,
Jaroslav

@JaroslavThe current NAKIVO version does not have an agent for the multitenant version. NAKIVO requires a direct connection between all of the components. The best solution for the multitenant version: VPN connections. It has enough security and fast build time. We want to remind you that the NKIVO Director site can be a VPN Server. So, you can configure tenants like a software|hardware VPN client. Our product development team works to improve NAKIVO software. We have some agent implementation in our roadmap, but it's no ETA for this feature.

Hello,

In current version 10.3 is feature called "direct connect", which doesn't need VPN, but just for VMWare.

Direct connect for physical servers will be available in 10.6. There is no official release date of it. It's been said during today's webinar.

So we're still looking forward.

Regards,
Jaroslav

10.6 already launched

@ALOJALIAThank you for your request. Sorry, but we can't tell the specific date, when Direct connect for physical will be supported. We look forward to hearing any feedback from you soon. Thank you for choosing NAKIVO Backup & Replication as your data protection solution.
