Official Moderator
Hello, @Ray Johns! When you delete a file from OneDrive in Windows Explorer, the file moves to the Recycle Bin. You can access it in Windows and the OneDrive web interface. Note: When you delete files in the OneDrive web interface, they won't be moved to the Recycle Bin in Windows. So basically, Microsoft offers two native recovery methods: 1. Using Windows Recycle Bin To recover a file, go to the Recycle Bin in Windows and search for the deleted file. Click the file and select Restore. Now you restored the file to its original location. However, the file stays in the OneDrive Recycle Bin if you check the OneDrive web interface. 2. Using OneDrive Recycle Bin This method's advantage is that you can use any OS with a supported browser. It can also be helpful in case you can't find your file/folder in the Windows Recycle Bin, or your Windows configuration doesn't keep deleted files in the Recycle Bin. To restore files from OneDrive Recycle Bin: Open your browser Go to https://login.microsoftonline.com Enter the credentials > go to OneDrive Open Recycle bin. Select the deleted files for recovery Click Restore Note: If you don't see your files in the Recycle Bin, go to the Second-stage recycle bin. Deleted files are moved there 30 days after deletion. And also, remember that deleted files will be stored for 93 days maximum. It combines both Recycle Bin and Second-stage recycle bin storage time. After this period, there is no possibility of recovering your files using the native features. If you have any other questions left, let me know. Dianahemes
In the navigation pane, select Recycle bin. Select the files or folders you want to restore by pointing to each item and clicking the circle check box that appears, and then click Restore.
